11.1.11

the soul on the lips

When the passionate flame of our love
You behold extinct within your loving bosom
For you alone is life any worth to me
The day that I lose you, I shall take away my life.

For my thought, full of this affection
That in a happy hour bade me your slave,
Away from your pupils is sad like a child
Who falls asleep dreaming of your cooing accent.

To wrap you in kisses, I'd turn into the wind,
And I want to be everything that your hand touches
To be your smile, to become your every breath
So I could be a bit closer to your mouth.

I live by your word, forever yearning
To call you mine, like someone waiting for treasure
Away from you I understand how much I love you
And I naïvely cry as I kiss all of your letters.

Excuse me if I don't have the words to tell you
Of this unspeakable passion which devours me.
To express my love, I have nothing but to
Tear my chest open, darling, and on your silky hands
Lay this throbbing heart that adores you.
